Spotted in Cwmbran, Wales yesterday (not one of the UK's top cities for sure!). Managed to snap it with my phone. Posted to this group.
Disappointed my face'll be blurred. As luck would have it I was with the wife, and not skiving off work.

they sometimes use more than one, there's a photo in the pool of three having a chat on the side of a rural highway;-)
my guess is the bigger the region/metro area, the more googlenettas get assigned to that region...

glasgow is already in the list! (pool) after a city means that it's in the GSVC pool. thnx for posting anyways;_) i really appreciate it!!! aren't those glasgow shots from you;-)
the list is easy to check, i sorted it from A-Z... each country google sent its googlenettas out to... only the U.S. is missing, since street view has been active there for a long time...
if there's new cities added in the americas, like the last week mexico city, i certainly add them to the list, also in the U.S..

I snapped a pic of the red Pontiac G6 in Monterrey, Mexico. It was in a GMC agency so I get to chat with the drivers and they said that they get fired if I publish the pic, yet they posed for it.
It's there any truth on the firing part?

Ja, wobei die journalistische "Qualität" Heises nicht so mein Ding ist...
Aber es ist bekannt das Google seine Fahrer anweist nur bei gutem Wetter zu scannen... Ich denke für Google ist es auch eine organisatorische und finzielle Frage wann wo der Schwerpunkt gesetzt wird... UK war jetzt den letzen Monaten sehr wichtig, ging ja vor ca. 3 Wochen online, und in den USA wird ja alles mit der 3. Generation neu gescanned, Das Material das mit den New Beetles von Immersive Media gescanned wurde ist ja im Vergleich sehr miderwertig;-( Europa hat es da besser, bei uns wurde von Tag 1 mit der 3. Generation gescanned (3. Generation = Opel Astra mit den 9 Kameras und 3 Lasern der Firma SICK)
Yes, Google instructs its' drivers to only scan in good weather conditions... makes perfect sense to pause the operation to restart in spring.... i think Google prioritizes and the last big effort was to get the UK ready for launch and the rescan with the 3rd generation googlenetta hardware in the U.S.. The footage taken by the New Beetles owned and operated by Immersive Media is totally inferior compared to the 3rd generation googlenettas (3rd generation = the extneded boom with the huge black rig with 9 cameras and the 3 grey SICK lasers)

The post by "Sno opsti" is a link to german article about a Google press release that Google Germany is resuming its' operation and continues to scan Germany...
for example the City of Heidelberg complained that the Googlenetta did only drop by casualy, the driver was scanning Mannheim, and the Heidelberg city officials would love to see all of the city covered on SV, not just the castle/central train station and the roads leading to the castle/central train station... the Googlenetta was sighted by in Heidelberg by photographers of the local Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung, but no good photos were released on the web...

yeah, scotland has been and is still scanned by the Googlenettas;)
some cities in scotland are already online in SV... the Metro region of Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh went online a few weeks back...;)

Regarding the german information:
The list posted by Google refers to the cities that will be scanned this month and next month, may and june 2009. since the list mentions cities already scanned in summer 2008 this means that when SV Germany finally goes live Google will be in the process or already has rescanned those cities/regions/areas a 2nd time and this means that hopefully once google introduces "historic view" to SV (just like Google did a few weeks back with "Google Earth 5") we'll be able to use that data to do whatever we see fit with it;)
For example, in San Francisco Google Earth 5 has historic data on their servers ranging from the late 1940s until almost today. Of course this will not happen in SV, but every 6-12 months will/would be really nice, especially for real estate or city maintenance purposes...

Actual there are many new smaller citys announced in Germany which will get Streetview. For example citys like Hamm in Nordrheinwestfalen and Baden-Baden in Baden Württemberg. Compare with
maps.google.de/intl/de/help/maps/streetview/faq.html#q9
