About Gondwana

A group dedicated to the majestic wildlife, plants and forests that were once part of the great southern supercontinent Gondwana (Gondwanaland).

Fragments of Gondwana include Australia, New Zealand, South America, New Caledonia, New Guinea. These countries today share a rich heritage of similar animals and plants that drifted and evolved as the lands split off from Gondwana.

Well known examples include; Nothofagus Beech Trees, Podocarp and Aracaurian Conifers as well as plants of the Family Proteaceae. Gondwanan animals include Marsupial and Monotreme Mammals and many more.
