About Gold Hill, Colorado

This group is intended as a tribute to Gold Hill, Colorado in the Foothills of the Rockies above Boulder, Colorado in Boulder, County. It is a quick jaunt up Boulder Canyon to Orodel then right past Salina to Gold Run. It is at the top of the hill which is easily proved by a quick drop down Lickskillet Hill. Emphasis on the DOWN. Another fine route is up the Sunshine Canyon road accessed west up , Mapleton Avenue in Boulder, Colorado. Take your camera if you plan on visiting!

It resides on the Registry of American Places. One of Colorado's original gold mining camps, it still retains much of it's historical character which stretches back nearly to the (second or possibly third) 1859 discovery of gold in Colorado. That character found in its people, places, views and location is what we want to see here.

As administrators, we would like to grant subject flexibility but please keep within the guidelines. Gold Hill is as bountiful in visual subjects as it is in history. Capture these subjects and describe their history and manner of being fully as a favor to viewers. While there is a latitude granted the posting should need little in embellishment. Party pictures may mean a lot to you but will convey little to other viewers. Outrageous borders and HDR can be annoying and are usually created from 3rd party software. Do you work yourself and claim it yourself!

There will be no posting limits other than relevance, at least for the foreseeable future.
