About G-O-D-1-2-3
"what am i doing?" i asked myself. "dishes?"
there i was, having some sort of moment, hunched over like a lanky caveman scrubbing the inside of my blender and trying not to slice my finger on the blade. alone and washing dishes. this is when it happens though, for those who don't know. these are the times where the truly infinite hits you. it's not when you're standing on the edge of the grand canyon, or skydiving, or walking down the aisle. no, it happens when you're alone, wearing mismatched socks, annoyed at the buzzing of the fluorescent bulb above you, hunched over a sink, trying to successfully clean the area between the blade and the glass in your blender. van gogh houses rush in. flying bats, the letter "m," toothaches, antique broaches, ancestors... everything rushes in, because you're trying to not cut your fingers on the blade, and it's ridiculous. trying to not get the sponge caught on the blade, mankind's inevitable absence becomes a visualization. i suddenly remembered the most beautiful dream i ever had, was about standing on the rooftop of a Target store at night, looking at ultra-close, twin saturn-shaped ringed planets, vibrant and neon colored gas swirling, touching each other and rotating in unison. there was no one in my dream to comment to. i couldn't say, "jesus, why are they so close?" to anyone. i just had to stand there and get over the unusual closeness of the planets, and learn to feel that they were completely natural. they are what i am. for this type of sudden rush of the infinite, i found i have no reaction. a physical reaction in a moment like that, brings you back to this physical world. to this world of blender blades and loud lights. but maybe the point is, to find out that there is nowhere to go and come back from. i cut my finger.
love levi
