gloom is in the heart is all about dark and gloomy photographs with a twist. We want more than just dreariness and despair - give us colour, humour and wit - as long as it's not all too bright! Show us that there's more to gloom than low saturation...

Before you post, please read these simple guidelines that will help you decide whether your picture fits into the pool.

A red light pulsating in the darkness, a little pool of light in the deep shade, a glowing screen in a dark room - strong emotion in scarcely lit environment is what we're all about! Long exposure / night shots are accepted, but that is not the kind of darkness we have in mind. Think "Marlene Dietrich in a sequined dress on a dark stage under a bright spotlight". Or a film by Stanley Kubrick. Even Pedro Almodóvar at his darkest momets!

If you're going to post a crisp high-contrast shot of that perfect geometric row of skyscraper windows, there are plenty of other groups that would be happy to host your picture - this is not one of them.

There are no limitations on what you shoot - bring on the babies, the cats and the sunsets, as long as you can make them look dark and unusual.


Please DO NOT:

- post LOW SATURATION, SEPIA AND BLACK & WHITE phtographs!! this group is about colour.

- post more than three pictures in a row.

- spam the pool with pictures that don't fit in - this group is carefully moderated and your picture will be deleted.

- break the rules more than once - you will be kicked from the group.
