The Global Friendship Project is a social network of people sharing photos that capture the lives of persons with disabilities worldwide. The purpose is to help build bottom-up support for the UN Convention on Human Rights for Persons with Disabilities.

Over 650 million people, or approximately 10 per cent of the world’s population, have a disability of one form or another. While their living conditions vary, they are united in one common experience – being exposed to various forms of discrimination and social exclusion.

The Convention will need 20 ratifications to come into force and the Optional Protocol will need 10 ratifications to come into force. Your photoshare added with others can help show each country that ratifying the Convention is a must!

Thank you for joining,
Lisa Hazell, Administrator
