About Glass Doorknobs
This group is dedicated to the whimsy, artistry and magic of glass doorknobs. Nearly a century ago, most homes were outfitted with glass doorknobs of varying cut, style and design. Most were mounted in steel or brass shanks and gave off either a starburst or other fantastic design when viewed straight on. Today, these doorknobs are revered not only for their beauty but also for their nostalgic value. Many can be found in resale shops, but in some cases they can still be found in the homes they were installed in 80+ years ago. Any and all styles of doorknob photos may be posted here-- as long as they are glass. Enjoy!
