Nice one MM. Not that I want to step on your toes but any ideas for a good view?

Nice one. It had totally slipped my mind.
I think probabbly the best view will be from Prospecthill Road. Need to get a long lens on but you will def see more from there I think.

Well I'm gonna be at the top of one of the high rises at the top of Prospecthill Crescent. You could get a view from the field beside the community centre, on the opposite side near the mire path, the industrial estate (access from polmadie side), the asda car park or on the pavement beside Toryglen "Park".
There's also a few small garage buildings you could climb on top of. I'll try my best to check stuff out next time I'm off work, if I do I'll take some little sample photos to let you see, I'll also upload an edited map marking where each photo was taken and you can make up your own minds.

Brilliant! I was already afraid I missed it.
BTW it reminds me that I still haven't posted my Gorbals Demolition photos to Flickr.

The demolition has been delayed until the 21st of January. They're behind schedule with pre-weakening the walls or something.
Safedem are a nice company, they're taking out all the housebound folks for days out and organising bingo and stuff for them to get them away from noisy works.

Ahhh... was hoping this was gonna happen sooner... ahh well.
Looks as if you'd need something like a 400mm to catch anything worthwhile... that exclusion zone looks massive!

Hooray!
what a relief - I thought I missed it (again).
jim: on the other hand those blocks are huge, last time I took a 70-260mm lens with me and I hardly used the long end (shooting Gorbals blocks from Glasgow Green). Let's hope that gear is enough!

Oi oi, how do?
Put some photos I took today up looking for good views, just on my way up from the bus stop though, going to get some more tomorrow. Just check out my photo stream.
They're geotagged, so you can find out where they are from the photo's page. I'll do the same for the rest of em.
Also I thought the view from the hill next to Aitkenhead road police station might be good.
How cool would it be if we all went to a different bit and got photos from all angles?
Anyhoo important info: evac begins at 8am Sunday morning and is scheduled to finish around 10am. So you've got until then to get your fingers out and set yourself up wherever you're going to be shooting from.
If you are shooting on the south/southeast side, where the distance from the building to the edge of the evac zone is thinnest PLEASE take precautions, you might need dust masks, goggles... whatever. It's a big building and we have been warned by the council to shut the air vents on our windows and such.
If you are driving don't be a smart arse, park somewhere sensible. There's loads of cops and stuff AND towtrucks. If they don't like where your car is and you're not there to move it it'll be offsky and there's a fee to get it back.
Don't try to sneak in either, you'll put yourself in danger and you might get carted off by the polis.
Oh deary me, I sound like I'm your mum or something.
Anything else you want to know drop me a message.
