About Giving Tree
YOU made the difference!
The Giving Tree is a "micro lending" tool and a simple extension of the "Ubuntu" program that I began cultivating in 2006. The intention is two-fold:
1) to give back a percentage of the profits that I make through my business in the Second Life online community to first life people and communities in need, and
2) to create simple ways of inviting other Second Life community members to join me in that uplift.
This is my way of reinvesting some of the goodness that has been invested in me through my online business, and inviting friends and customers to do the same.
As I invite the House of Serendipity group family and friends and other visitors to Tallulah's Café to participate, I'll pose pictures of the people and groups that we have invested it.
I'm opening this as a public group hoping that the people who have participated in the Giving Tree program will want to post pictures and stories of their own too! I've had some incredible notes from folks who have created their own spaces with the trees they've bought and the pictures of the people they have sponsored. In addition, Joshua Morane has lit a fire with his Giving Tree "art project", and I'm sure there will be even more innovation cropping up as people truly make this program their own.
