Are you disenchanted with existing ratings or comments groups? This group may be just what you're looking for...
This group was created to solve problems I've found exist with the comments and ratings groups.

What is the concept?

The idea of this group is simple: provide a place for people to post their photos where they can get both positive and negative feedback with these benefits:
1. A member commenting on a photo does not feel uncomfortable providing negative feedback
2. A member must provide positive feedback
3. A member does not have the pressure of determining what a photo's score is.


Why submit to comments/ratings groups?

If you submit your photo to comments and ratings groups, what are you really trying to achieve? I think people are looking for the following:
1. People want to gauge how good their photo is
2. People want other people to see their photo (it is ok to admit this. Everyone wants visibility in flickr)
3. People want feedback on the quality and emotional response of the photo.


There are flaws with both comments and ratings group.

1. Some people just post pictures for visibility and leave tiny comment snippets like 'nice one' or 'that looks great'. These comments provide little real impact on the person who submitted the photo.
2. Some people like to kick people in the teeth by handing them a low rating when it really is out-of-whack with the quality of the photo. These people usually leave little or no comments to back up their score
3. There is a serious conformity effect on scoring. The first person to score sets the tone for the rest of the scoring and all scores that follow do not deviate more than one point from the original score.

This group does have a few rules. You must agree to follow these rules to be a member of this group. Violation of these rules will result in a removal / ban based on the severity. This is a recap of the rules listed in the group's description.

1. You must comment on the previous three images in the image stream.

2. You must wait until 3 images have passed until you can post another photo.

3. Your must provide one (and only one) positive constructive comment and one (and only one) negative constructive comment per image. If you fav a photo, you do not have to leave a negative comment, otherwise you do.

4. Emotional posts DO NOT COUNT.
Examples of emotional posts:
"looks great", "it sucks", "doesn't work for me". Those do not fly in this group and violate the spirit of this group.

5. You can NOT make the same observation another person in this group has made.

6. No tasteless photos. Yes, nude photos are OK if done "with style". I think the audience here is more mature so nude photos make sense.

7. No "post and run" comments. The quality of this group is directly related to the comments left by each member. Short 1 or 2 word comments are not in the spirit of this group and will result in immediate removal. If the number of words used for plus and minus comments combined is less than 7, I will remove you.

8. No removal of an image that has received a comment for 30 days.
