GO GREEN TODAY promotes REPAIR and REUSE as well as recycling, but there are already several recycling Flickr groups, so in GGT UK REPAIR REUSE we want to illustrate the techniques, methods, results, and uses of items that have been REPAIRED and/or REUSED.
If you've renovated, refurbished, or repaired ANYTHING to prevent its demise so it can be put into useful service again then please submit your photos here - if you can submit a photo story with explanations of how the work was accomplished then that would be excellent! Perhaps it was a worn-out sofa, or old clothing, or a rug, or an ornament - whatever it is please post it here (if it's unsuitable for the group we'll just remove it).
If you've found a second use for something at the end of its life or original purpose then please submit a photo of it here - if you can show what it was originally and then how you're using it now then that would be excellent! It could be an item that required little conversion to put to a new use (i.e. using a yoghurt pot as a seedling pot), or perhaps you've had to redesign it to suit its new purpose - whatever it is please post it here (if it's unsuitable for the group we'll just remove it). The item could be something very practical, or ornamental, or arty.
We'd very much like to see photos of how you use recycled materials for your household CRAFTS - i.e. we know it's possible to create fantastic throw rugs and sofa/bed covers by cutting plastic bags into strips, then platting them, and then weaving them together (apparently they last a long time and can be washed several times) - if you've made things like this then PLEASE take photos and JOIN THIS GROUP! Thank you!
