This is sort of related, as it's based on my interest in geocoding everything (including blog posts and photos) and because the plugin adds a link to the Geobloggers site from posts in WordPress.
The plugin detects Google Maps or MultiMap URLs in the post and uses the lat/lon coordinates in them (if there are any) to geocode the post.
It's mostly at the proof of concept stage now, but I've released it as a public beta here:
