About Geotagged Tours

This is a group that I hope will be something unique. Simply put,

1. Each photo posted here must be the FIRST photo of a user's SET.

2. Each set must contain enough accurately GEOTAGGED photos in a chronological or meaningful ORDER to make the set a walking/driving/flying TOUR of a part of the world. Could be a walk down your street, could be a flight across the country.

3. Each photo posted here must have the tag "Geotagged Tours" and include a brief description of the tour and how the images were geotagged (manually, through the camera, with a handheld GPS unit, phone, etc.)

That's it.

I'm posting the first photo here, which you can follow to a geotagged walking tour of my town as an example of the structure that is expected of photos in this group, though it's just an example.

The photos can be from anywhere in the world. Be creative. Include a map of the tour if you can. Overlaying a GPS track in Google Earth is an easy way to do this.

I would prefer that the geotagging be done by some automatic means (i.e., a GPS connected to your camera or GPS locations automatically matched to photos using GPStagr) to ensure accuracy. Patently inaccurate geotags will be cause for a photo's removal from the group. Don't just geotag the first photo in the set a general location. At least half of the photos should be tagged (tagging all would be better!), though exceptions may be made, especially if the photos in the set which have geotags are particularly accurately tagged.
