Looking for friends to explore the outdoors with?

Between sunsets and sunrises, Nature is a very beautiful place to explore. Every creature has its habitat, every wind that blows through the forest has its own path, and every stream delicately follows its own stream bed. It’s all just like you and I, we all have to find our own niche in the outdoors.

There are 100’s of trails within the vicinity of the state of Georgia. And many years before Georgia had roads, it was laced with Indian paths. There is so much heritage in everything you explore in Georgia, the lakes, rivers, mountains, cliffs, all have a story to tell.

If you would open your eyes and look around you might even see a bit of history in your back yard. The Nantahala River was once a song by Cherokee Indians which meant “noon day sun." This was due to it being blanketed by the mountains so that the sun could only penetrate it during the noon time hours. Amicalola waterfall in its originality is named “tumbling waters” and its trail was part of the Trail of Tears. Explore around with Georgia Outdoor Explorers and discover what the mountains of Georgia have hidden within them.

When the Georgia Adventurers Group take to the trails, we’re on a mission to explore. We’re not just a club of “trail runners" or “exercisers," we’re out there to learn too! Want to KNOW what that flower is? that bug? that tree? that rock? that bird? Bring a Guide Book and learn with us.


Looking to learn or try new outdoor sports?

Over the course of a year, we’ll have a variety of outdoor sporting events. Rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, caving, swimming, skydiving, hang gliding, etc..etc.. Make a suggestion and an organizer will try to make a plan for that outdoor sport!


Have an idea for some neat event?

Please feel free to suggest anything you think other members might like to do as an event. And that means anything you might read about in the news… concerts? baseball games? football games? basketball games? a night club? dinner? bowling? board games? card games? book signings? a morning run on the Chattahoochee? sunrise hikes?


Sitting at home, Nothing to do?

There are 100’s of fellow Atlantians sitting at their computer AT HOME, wishing they had something to go do tonight. Just like you… sitting there reading this page. Take a chance…. Post an event! Someone may respond… or not… doesn’t matter… you took the chance. Chances are, if you plan a week ahead, someone will answer…. YES I’ve been wanting to do that too!
