About Geocaching and Rural Tourism in Galicia

Fegatur, the Galician Federation of Association for Rural Tourism, proposes a new alternative to enjoy rural tourism in Galicia: Geocaching. Geocaching allows you to visit places off the beaten track and to get to know magic spots lost in time and nature. Geocaching is a leisure activity halfway between game and sport which can be practised alone, in a group or by families depending on the degree of difficulty.
How does it work?
The owners of rural tourism accommodation participating in the programme hided their caches, usually small hermetic containers (Tupper style) including location related items, a welcome note and a logbook. The cache location is pinpointed by means of a GPS and a small description is made up to give you some additional hints. After booking and upon arrival at the rural accommodation you will receive this information together with a handheld GPS; now you can start the treasure hunt!!!! Once you found the cache sign the logbook and share your photos online with us and other geocachers becoming a group member at Geocaching and Rural Tourism in Galicia.
