About Gen X
You know who you are. Born somewhere between 1964ish to 1980ish, you fit right in.
Post your grunge, your vinyls, your toys, yourself. Whatever.
"The term was first used in a 1964 study of British youth by Jane Deverson. Deverson was asked by the editor of the magazine Woman's Own to conduct a series of interviews with teenagers of the time. The study revealed a generation of teenagers who "sleep together before they are married, don't believe in God, dislike the Queen, and don't respect parents," which was deemed unsuitable for the magazine because it was a new phenomenon."
Since then, the term has undergone metamorphosis of different years, a general description of those in their twentysomethings, those who succeeded the Baby Boomers, group of flannel-wearing, alienated, overeducated, underachieving slackers with body piercings, who drank franchise-store coffee and had to work at McJobs. We grew up during the Cold War and Regan was our President.
