No other nation in the history of mankind has done so much to secure the blessings of freedom for all men, or to defend the cause of liberty and government of, by and for the people, as the United States of America. And no other men and women are more responsible for securing and defending these blessings than those who so honorably and nobly wear the uniforms of the United States armed forces; and here domestically, the police, firefighters and other public safety officers who so courageously put their lives on the line to protect America and her citizens.

This public group exists to recognize, affirm, honor and celebrate through the camera lens the immense debt of gratitude owed to these brave men and women and the immense burden of eternal vigilance we are called to carry as the price of this freedom.

"GBA" is not a politically partisan site. Please do not post photos or comments promoting or disparaging political parties, politicians or other individuals, nations, etc. Please neither use this as a forum to argue for or against any particular war or military policy. There is a place for (peaceful) protest in the great land of liberty, but this respectfully is not it, in the same way the World Trade Center memorial site is not the proper place for protest. We also recognize the invaluable contributions to freedom made by Great Britain and so many other nations the world over. But with all due respect and sincerest admiration, this group is not the place hallowed for them.

This group is for all to share in, but only to honor America's heroes in the cause and defense of freedom. Please post photos thus accordingly of either America's soldiers, firefighters, police and other public safety officers, or of the myriad civilian ways, large and small, through which we pledge as our "birth duty" to pay homage and show our support for, and appreciation of, these brave defenders of freedom.
