Heres how it goes.

Approach one of your Flickr contacts and agree on a 2-way challenge.

The challenge is defined by an exchange of 2 concepts, ideas, themes or words - lets call it a theme for now. Each unique to the other.

So...
1. you approach someone...most likely a cool flickr friend
2. ask them if they would like to play...they will want to...this is fun!
3. provide them with their topic, and they provide you with yours
4. the fun begins!!
5. once your images are done...post them to this group with the relevant info in the notes for the photo
6. Start a new challenge

The themes must be unique to each challenger (i.e. you and your contact must have a different topic to work to) and this must be shown through the work/photographs. Examples could be "Lighter Than Air", "Healing Hands", "Portrait of A Lost Soul", "Motorcycle Baby", "Ice & Flesh"...you name it. Anything goes...except outright porn.

The goal is to foster the social element in Flickr, and produce images and interpretations of the highest possible quality with no outside assistance (other than subject matter such as models, props etc). The composition and production of the image must be done by you in its entirety.

When your image is done, post it to the Gauntlet Throwers pool, with this in the notes...(for example)

Not much more too it really---have fun!! Again, remember, that this is more about having a little challenge with your flickr-mates, than having the pool to end all pools - have a laugh...take a challenge and Throw The Gauntlet!

I want to give you a photographic challenge, and you interpret it the way you see fit. And...Id like you to set me a challenge in return.

When the images are done, we send them to the Gauntlet Throwers group.

I figure it could give us a few fun little projects to do along the way. No time restrictions etc, we just get to it when we can.
