DESCRIPTION/GUIDELINES
Gate definition for this group: A barrier, usually hinged, used to close an opening made for entrance and exit through a wall or fence.
Open, closed or ajar but a gate must be visible. Close-ups of the finer details are encouraged but it should be obvious that it's a gate. There are many other groups that concentrate on locks, handles, rust and weathered images.
There are other groups on Flickr that cater for gate and barrier enthusiasts. This one is different as the definition of gate is limited to the actual openable barrier and not the opening or surroundings. The gate(s) must be the main subject and not an incidental or accidental part of a photograph.

The pool should show straightforward photography so no negatives, heavy manipulations, light experiments, mosaics, montages, collages, computer graphics, screen grabs, screen captures, screen shots, elaborate or decorative borders (borderless preferred), large titles (no titles preferred) or drawings/paintings.
Images that don't fit the guidelines will be removed from the pool. If one of your images has disappeared you may find the explanation in the group description above. If you don't understand why your image has been removed please contact one of the admins by Flickr e-mail.
