Sometimes known as gas-holders, these fantastic structures, often of great beauty, were built to hold and control the pressure of 'town gas' (as it was known in the UK) and later converted to fulfill the same function for natural gas.
Gasometer photos from anywhere in the world welcome, but please bear in mind mind that not all gas storage tanks (for example more modern ones storing propane or LPG) are gasometers.
Oh - the gasometer just has to be somewhere in the photo, not necessarily the apparent subject...
