About Gardens To See (NO FLOWER CLOSEUPS, PLEASE!)

Welcome to the Gardens To See Flickr group, which functions as the photo and discussion section of the Gardens To See reference site for public gardens to visit around the world. Please note that the gardens database is still being populated - if you have information about a particular garden that is not listed (and chances are good that you do!) we would love to hear about it and possibly feature your photo on the site!
We encourage people to add their best pictures of the gardens that they have visited to the pool. These may include botanical gardens, privately owned or operated gardens, parks, arboretums, conservancies, or even national wilderness areas with a particular garden-related theme. We ESPECIALLY would love to see older photos (pre-1980s) of any public gardens.
Currently, the group is fairly accomodating and relaxed as far as adding to the pool goes - there is a 20 photo limit per day. However, here are a few additional guidelines to ensure that your photos stay in the group:
PLEASE keep closeup MACRO photos of flowers and people to a minimum. While we enjoy them too, this pool is for landscape photos of defining features of the garden rather than close up photos or photos of people.
Please only post pictures of gardens that are, or were, open to the PUBLIC. We enjoy people's private gardens as well, but this is not the pool for them. Pictures of Parks, Estates and Zoos ARE welcomed, as long as there is a significant garden component to them.
Please tag photos with "gardenstosee" as well as the NAME of the garden, the CITY and the STATE (and/or country) it is located in. If possible, add the particular FLORA the garden specializes in (i.e., Rose, Cactus, Bonsai, Xeriscape, etc.) as tags as well.
We would very much appreciate it if you could add a photo that shows the ENTRANCE to the garden, or at least a sign that has the name of the garden. Also, if the garden has a specific feature it is well known for, please add a photo of that too.
Please do not dump your entire batch of vacation photos at once into the pool. Just add your best shots of the garden you visited.
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing your best photos of public gardens!

Hello, I'm an admin for a new group called <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/501488@N24/">Gardens To See</a> which focuses on great public gardens around the world. We especially look for photos which best exemplify the spirit or theme of the garden in question. We'd love to have your photo added to the group!
