I taught my daughter's class the Tom the Toad song. The tune is the same as "Oh Christmas Tree."

Oh Tom the Toad, oh Tom the Toad,
Why are you lying on the road? (repeat)
You did not see that car ahead
and now your marked with tire tread.
Oh Tom the Toad, oh Tom the Toad,
Why are you lying on the road?

At first they did not see the humor in the song (why can we sing about a dead toad?) but it quickly became a class favorite.
