|Introduction - What is the Fulton St. Farmer's Market to you?||fotoman311||1||fotoman311||9 years ago|
Group DescriptionLocated on East Fulton in Grand Rapids, MI, the Fulton Street Farmer's Market has been operating continuously on the same site since 1922! Currently, it is run by the Midtown Neighborhood Association under a lease with the City of Grand Rapids.
The market has a long and great history, with many of the vendors in their 2nd or 3rd generation of selling great, fresh food or handmade crafts directly to the people of Grand Rapids.
This group is a celebration of this community treasure! All photos must be of the FSFM or related to the market in some direct way (photos of a vendor's farm would be acceptable, but should be labeled).
In 2009 the ability to accept EBT and Debit cards was added, making fresh produce accessible to more people and adding to the bottom lines of all market vendors. This program has been a huge hit with shoppers! Just visit the Market Office on the south end to use the service.
A committee has been formed to raise money to re-develop the Fulton Street Farmer's Market, giving it a permanent home worthy of it's storied history for many years to come. You can view the Project for Public Spaces feasibility study that will be used to guide this redevelopment project on the Midtown website.
