About Female Self-Portrait Artists' Support Group (FSPASG)
We're the Female Self Portrait Artists' Support Group, also known as FSPASG. We're a supportive, nurturing, loving group of women who enjoy each other's photography, company, creativity, and inspiration. We pride ourselves on our supportive, friendly atmosphere, our generosity with our tea and biscuits, and our smokin' peachy dockeys.
Before you click that "join" button, here are the pre-requisites:
1. YOU MUST BE FEMALE. If you are male, you will get declined immediately. Do not even try. Seriously. We check. It does help if you state that you're 'female' on your profile.
2. You must have a demonstrated interest in artistic self-portraiture, and be dedicated to the genre. If all you have, so far, are arm's-length candids of yourself, this does not constitute a "demonstrated interest." Photos of your new hair, lipstick, camera, and most headshots will be deleted from the pool. Remember, this group is for "artistic self-portrait photos".
Please note, if you do not have any recent self-portraits (dating within the last 6 months) please also include in your application message an explanation and what your plans are regarding future self-portraiture.
3. Your self-portraits must be tagged "self," "self-portrait," or something similar, and be in their own set. They should be easy to find, basically.
4. You should be open to the idea of a supportive group of women who will welcome you and want to get to know YOU and your photos! Please note: This was more possible when the group was smaller, so please do not take it personally if an introduction, comment, or question is not immediately addressed.
If, for some reason, you have a collection of self-portraits that are not public (and thus not readily found by our membership checkers), please send a note to one of your friendly admins, Quizz..., ~ Paloma ~, sadandbeautiful (Sarah), Geekgirly, or MFayre and explain your situation. They'll help you out.
Show your support for the women in the FSPASG by telling them, and everyone else, where you saw their photo. Just copy this code and paste it into the comment box.
