23 Nov 09 - Hello there! Our pictures from FiO 2009 are up! But we'd like to see some of yours, so please share whatever you've got. And if you have the time, feel free to tag anyone you recognize (if you need help with People in Photos, see the FAQ: www.flickr.com/help/people/). Also, check out the discussion area and don't be shy about starting up a new topic or posting to one already established.

About Frontiers in Optics (FiO)

Frontiers in Optics and Laser Science are the combined annual meetings of The Optical Society (OSA) and American Physical Society (APS)/Division of Laser Science (LS). FiO features cutting-edge presentations, invited speakers and a variety of special events, as well as an exhibit floor filled with leading optical companies.

Every year many pictures are taken at the event; this group is dedicated to sharing them. We invite you to post your event photos, formal or informal; all pictures from FiO/LS are welcome.

There are a few common sense rules:

1)While we encourage informal pictures from the event, please exclude anything that is not appropriate for a professional setting.

2)Please be respectful of one another. This group is for sharing and discussing your experiences at FiO/LS, and to help connect members of the optics and photonics community.

3)Please only post photos pertaining to FiO/LS.

Violation of either of the first two rules will result in removal of both the member and the inappropriate material from the group. Removed members may re-join the group, but a second offense will result in the member being permanently banned from the group. Violation of the third rule will result in a polite note from the moderators pointing out that your pictures need to be more closely related to FiO/LS and requesting that you remove your off-topic picture from the group pool.

If you need any help figuring out how to use Flickr Groups, you can visit the Groups FAQ, or if you prefer your tutorials in visual form, Tech-Ease has a series of video tutorials on using Flickr, including subscribing to, adding photos to, and removing photos from a group.

Thank you and welcome to the group!
