BlueElephantStitches Month - August

I'm so excited to be hosting this month. I've had such a time deciding which idea to use, but I knew I wanted something that would let all the amazing talent shine.
I'm planning on making a quilt for my daughter's 'big girl' bed. (She's only 10 months now so I'm really thinking ahead!)
Here are some of the fabrics I'll be cutting up to send to you.
I'm going with pink, orange, and yellow with pops of bright green.
My theme is scrappy and happy.
Here's the guidelines:
- one 12.5" block, or four 6.5" block (I will be using both sizes in my layout)
- please use each of the fabrics I've sent you at least once in your block or blocks
- a small amount of wonkiness is fine, but not too much
- I would love to have you add fabrics from your stash in these colors, but this is completely optional
- keep any leftovers to add to your stash
- although I love the idea of siggy blocks, I think I'll leave it this time, since this quilt will be for my daughter
Now for block design: Like I said, I really want to keep this open for your ideas. I've put together a gallery of blocks that I really like, so you're welcome to make a block like one of these, or something completely different. I like improv style blocks, drunk love, maverick stars, flying geese, simple squares... Basically I want it to be fun, whimsical, modern, bright and scrappy.
As you can see in this gallery, I've chosen some more complicated designs as well as some very simple ones, and I will be most happy to receive anything you feel inspired to make!
I'm just waiting on a package of fabric to arrive, and then I'll hopefully send out your fabric before Aug. 1!

So excited about this!!! So many possibilities!!
You said one 12.5" block or 4 - 6.5" blocks - this is unfinished size?
And if we have enough fabric to make more than what you're asking, is that ok to do more or do you just want one or the other? :)

I love this too - the fabrics, the inspiration gallery, the fact it's for your daughter - I can't wait to get started although can I just mention I am on hol from 11 August for three weeks so may be late with your block - sorry.

Must remember to say that August is a tough month for me - I'm on hol for most of it so your block(s) will be late - let me know if that is a problem. This is a cooooool month - I love your inspiration gallery.

I've just sent the fabric out today. I'm sorry it's a bit late, but I was waiting for one pesky fabric to arrive that I really wanted to include. Anyone vacationing or having a hard time getting my block done, no worries! Just a word to let me know what's happening is all I ask for . I'm SO excited to see what you all come up with!

Cool, I just was making sure I didnt miss it somehow. I will be watching for it now. I have a couple ideas stirring. I was laying in bed last night trying to sleep and started to brain storm. lol, pathetic I know!

Yes, one block is fine. Of course I won't turn down a second block, but that's only if you have time and inspiration.
