The Strasbourg Freedom Drive is part of an overall strategy to empower people with disabilities across Europe. The Freedom Drive is an opportunity for people with disabilities from all European countries to join together and converge on the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where we will meet with other people with disabilities; with our MEPs; and with representatives of many other key EU institutions, such as the Parliament and the Court of Human Rights. It is a great opportunity to raise our profile and the issues that affect us.
The Freedom Drive is an initiative of the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) and is supported by the Center for Independent Living, Dublin. While Carmichael CIL and ENIL Secretariat will provide support with logistics and advice, each individual/CIL is responsible for paying for all travel, accommodation, expenses etc.
