About Francesco Borromini

This group is for celebrating in photographs the Baroque architecture and sculpture of Francesco Borromini (1599-1667). Borromini's work appears in many buildings, not just those which are entirely of his own creation, so for those of you who would like to be comprehensively informed, you could do no better than looking at Anthony Blunt's masterly works on this, the most pure and perhaps the most gifted of Baroque architects. Only Nicholas Hawksmoor, the English Baroque architect, has rivalled Borromini's nervous brilliance. Please check out the group Nicholas Hawksmoor for photographs.
