The fotomarathon is a photo competition under extreme circumstances. In 12 hours, participants try to illustrate 24 themes creatively. Artistic aspects -the idea as well as the photograph- stay in the foreground. The challenge is to create a consistent 24 photo series and to keep having good ideas until the end of the marathon. One detail is important: for every theme there is only one photo available -every decision counts.
The photos should all follow one general theme, and are to be taken in the order as they are given. In past years, the themes have benn "Water", "Here I am a person", "Playing with Numbers" and "The dream of flying". The individual themes are somewhat ambiguous and they then set the participants' abilities to interpret them to the test.
