If you post anything you created in the past "for good," please share a story in the notes or create a thread and tell us about the subject and anything you'd like to share about the shoot. The consensus so far is that this is for people pictures only, not pets (although people+pets would be cool). Having trouble getting started? Start somewhere -- post if you want ideas or tips.

About Resolution: Donate photography services to someone in need

Would you donate your photography services (amateur or professional) to someone in need? Of course you would. This group is to discuss how to make good on these good intentions, talk about tips for recruiting and shooting subjects, and sharing the most moving stories and work that result.

Would you consider joining, with the goal of doing one photo shoot in 2009 for a family, a senior, a local philanthropic organization, that would value photography but can't afford it?

- Photograph a family that just moved into their Habitat for Humanity home
- Photograph a foster child looking to be adopted
- Photograph a party at a senior's center

This group is aimed primarily at folks who are amateurs but serious about doing their best photography work. The only "rule" is that you provide images that the subject would enjoy (respectful of the subject, not necesarily meant to "document" difficult situations).

We'll start by discussing ways to get off our butts and find a subject, ways to prepare for the first shoot, and sharing our favorite stories and images.

If only one other person joins and does a shoot -- you'll be motivating me to make good on this resolution, and I thank you. Happy 2009 everyone!
