This group is about getting together to do something small for a great person.

Some of you may or may not know that AnomalousNYC's computer broke down. Therefore, he is not able to upload photos as he used to, and the entire flickr community is missing out on his great work.

Anomalous is known for his absolutely brilliant portraits, and his unrelenting passion for justice. Always thought-provoking with his images, he knows how to use them to open people's eyes to the other side of things, whatever that may be. You only need to look at his sets to understand:

So with this group, we thought that we would try to give something back. We want to raise $1000 for a new computer!

Hopefully it won't be that difficult! He has over 1,000 contacts and even more fans, so a little bit from everyone can go a long way.

How to Transfer Money

Transferring the money is easy, and you'll know that we received it. We are using Paypal, so all you have to do is transfer money directly to the account, by logging on to www.paypal.com. You need to sign up for a paypal account, which only takes a few minutes. Then click on the "Send Money" tab, and where it says "To", type in the following email address:

And enter the amount you would like to give (it doesn't matter how small, as every little helps!). After you've done that, it will ask you for your credit card details and voila! You'll be notified when we receive the amount.


How You Know We Received It

Paypal immediately notifies us if a transfer has been made, and once we see that it has been deposited, we will send you a private message or an email to confirm that we have received it, so that will be your receipt from us.

In the discussion thread, we will update the rest of the members of the individual amounts we received so that everyone can keep track, without giving the personal details of the donor.

PLEASE NOTE : Paypal takes a small fee when you transfer the amount, which in pounds amounts to: 1.4% + £0.20 GBP to 3.4% + £0.20 GBP. See here for details (Premier account)


How You Know We Will Stop at $1000

Because there is no credit card attached to this account, the maximum that can be received is $1000 per month, and we hope to reach our target in a week hopefully! After we get the amount, we will then transfer the money to AnomalousNYC's Paypal account.

Moreover you will be able to track how much we have raised by counting up the individual donations, which we will be posting.

We will also update you using the discussion thread of the total raised every couple of hours.


One Final Note...

On the discussion thread "A Message for Anomalous", you can leave a note, a message, a picture or whatever for Anomalous.

And as for pictures to be added, please take a picture of yourself holding a note (handwritten or typed) for him. This is not a strict rule, anything that is relevent will be accepted, but it would be nice to have a theme going on :)
