About Food in the City: A Leonard Lopate Show Challenge

Let's face it: life in the city can be really hard and inhospitable. But one of the things that makes it better is food! And we're not just talking about comfort food - there’s street food, farmers markets, fancy food, and the food you cook in your own kitchen (no matter how small!). In our new series, Food in the City, we'll explore all the many different ways that food makes us New Yorkers.
We want your “New York” recipes! Chef Michael Lomonaco may have learned how to do brisket in Texas smokehouses, but now he cooks his brisket Brooklyn style! Share your recipes – from your New York. Recipes you may have brought with you from somewhere else – and adapted to your new home here in the city. Or recipes inspired by the city.
Food In the City takes place on the radio, online, and in person over the summer. Tune in to the Leonard Lopate show to hear chefs and food writers discuss shopping, cooking, and most importantly eating. Online, you can watch videos of our guests as they take us to kitchens, markets, and restaurants. And in July we will be announcing a meet up - A potluck in Prospect Park.
