About Foma Chemistry

A group for people who enjoy developing and printing traditional black and white films using Foma photographic chemicals.

Fomadon Excel (W 27) is a two-component ascorbic acid based powder black and white negative film developer similar to Kodak Xtol

Fomadon LQN is a fine grain liquid phenidone-hydroquinone based black and white film developer that yields negatives of normal contrast

Fomadon LQR is a fine grain liquid phenidone-hydroquinone based black and white film developer that yields negatives of higher contrast

Fomadon P (W 37) is a general purpose two-component metol-hydroquinone based powder black and white negative film developer similar to Kodak D.76d. Since the components are in two separate packets they have the added advantage of being more stable than the retail formulation sold by Kodak which comes in a single packet.

Fomadon R09 is a high acutance para-aminophenol based black and white negative film developer similar to the original 1918 version of AGFA Rodinal known as das Ur-Rodinal. It is packaged in square containers and the concentrate appears dark brown in colour.

Fomadon R09 NEW is a high acutance para-aminophenol based black and white negative film developer identical in characteristics to the current version of AGFA Rodinal. It is packaged in oval containers and the appearance of the concentrate ranges from a light pale straw colour when new to a tea-like colour after a year or more of storage.

Fomacitro is a citric-acid based odourless indicating stop bath for all black and white films and papers

Fomafix P (U 1) is a universal hardening acid powder fixer based on sodium thiosulphate for all black and white films and papers

Fomafix Rapid is a universal non-hardening acid liquid fixer based on ammonium thiosulphate for all black and white films and papers
