About Follow Me – Road Markings As A Compositional Device
White lines, double yellows, arrows (especially arrows), chevrons – fine for showing the way when you’re driving or crossing the road, but they work great in pictures too. Leading the eye into the frame, drawing attention to the subject, and even making interesting forms in their own right.
This is not an urban landscape group, although most images in the pool will probably fit that genre. It is not a group for documenting or recording road markings or signs, but all the images will prominently feature street furniture in some shape or form.
This group is for pictures which use road markings or street signs as a compositional device.
Pictures which employ other street furniture (e.g. bollards, traffic cones, lamp posts) in a similar way may also be considered.
The Small Print
Please feel free to submit your best photos which feature road markings and street signs as a key element of their composition. Submissions will be moderated to maintain the quality of images and to keep the group on the straight and narrow. If your picture doesn’t show up in the pool it doesn’t neccessarily mean it’s a bad photo, or that you’re flawed as a person. It just means that it doesn’t fit the ethos of the group.
Enjoy the journey!
