About Folding Fanatics

Fanatical about folders? Bonkers about bellows? If the names Bessa, Isolette and Weltur make your heart flutter, then this is the group for you!

Folding cameras were popular in most parts of the world until WWII and in some places such as the Soviet Union until the late 1960's. Many film formats were available to the folding camera enthusiast and many manufacturers made models of varying quality and with differing features. As a result there is still a healthy appreciation of folding cameras with models available to buy for very cheap all the way to the top end of the market. As 120 (medium format) film was popular amongst manufacturers for many years and is still readily available, a folding camera is still a great way to get into medium format photography.

This group not only features photographs taken with folding cameras and of folding cameras; it is a place for discussion about fixes, repairs, hints and tips as well as a place to discuss the enthusiasm we share for folding cameras.
