About The Focal Plane Challenge
AKA, the month of Exposure. No, not like that.
FPC is a month of photoblogging basically. One picture a day, for an entire month. It's not a true photo challenge in the "we're going to judge the entires and award a cash prize" sort of event (there's no cash prize), but more of a personal challenge.
The first challenge was held beginning March 1, 2007, and ended on March 31, 2007. It was a moderate success, and we took a few years off.
Now we're starting again. May 1st, 2011. Get your cameras ready!
This is an experiment. We don't know if it'll ever achieve the notoriety of NaNoWriMo, but it might be fun. FPC:MoE is all about exploration. There are only a few rules:
1. The contest begins May 1st.
2. Don't just snap a picture. That's too easy. Select a subject. Compose the shot. Think about the meaning. Try to be a photographer.
3. One image per day. You can take more than that if you like, but the idea is that it's a picture a day. No more, no less.
4. No missing days. Take a picture EVERY DAY. Even if it sucks, it's just a photoblog.
5. Enjoy it! This is supposed to be a fun challenge!
