About Motor Roads in the Sky - the concrete flyovers of Great Britain

When the town planners went wild with futuristic utopian ideas after the austerity enforced by the second world war, some very dramatic and space-age roads were built above the towns and cities of Britain, to separate vehicles from pedestrians and to keep through traffic out of the way of the shopping streets. Many of the examples built were just the first phase of plans that were never finished.

Although usually considered to be eyesores, there's sometimes a graceful beauty in their design, and a hint at a trouble-free motorised future that never happened!

This pool's for pictures of them!
