That link works for me.
I'm surprised you were able to log in at all. China blocks access to Flickr.

I am also in China (xiamen) and got the same response as you, aschoom.
There are ways to get around China's block of Flickr - but how can we get around the apparent block of bighuge labs? Where can we ask about this? I am not good at technical problems on my own.

It's always been fine before... but is now unavailable. Seems strange, have Big Huge Labs been cooking up something subversive that I was unaware of? ;-)
BTW, Flickr is no longer blocked, at least here in Beijing. Which makes me think it even more unlikely that BHL is blocked, at least deliberately so.

So if all of us are finding Flickr Toys unavailable what can we do?! Seems to me it must be related to our living in China?
Anybody have any ideas?

It's possible something happened on or around the 9th of October. On that day, my traffic from China began to drop and has stayed very low ever since. Before that, most of my Chinese traffic was from Beijing and Shanghai. Today I got almost no visits from those cities. :(
Traffic is very close to but not quite zero. I got 34 visits from 9 cities today (including 2 from Beijing). I did some testing just now and found that (at this moment) bighugelabs.com is accessible from Beijing and Hong Kong but not Shanghai. It's very strange. It could be that bighugelabs.com is being blocked. It could also just be a (rather long) temporary DNS problem in China.
I don't know anything about the internet situation in China. I can tell you that China is not being blocked by me.
Sorry, guys. Please keep us updated on your situation and any possible workarounds.

You might want to ask if the wonderful soul who set Access flickr can help.

there is a greasemonkey script that bypasses all the blocks in china, uae, saudi arabia, korea and more. i noticed it yesterday while perusing the userscript.org lists for new toys.
you must use FireFox browser (which is excellent and free, btw) and the GreaseMonkey addon app (also free) to get the national blocker breaker.
should work on FF 3. since i'm not behind one of those blocking filters, i cannot test it. good luck.

I lived in China for a year. This problem is well-known and even has a name. In China it's called, The Golden Shield Project . There are 30,000 or more workers whose job it is to block sites.
The sites are blocked and unblocked on a seemingly random basis but we could never decide exactly why, except for those which said something obviously negative about China. If there was a negative piece of news about China, then all the news sites (CNN, BBC, NYTimes) would go down one by one for a few days, then appear, one by one again.
Also, sometimes our emails just got 'lost' on the way to the west. So I taught everyone to reply, "got it" to each they received so I could tell which were lost. I never wrote anything negative.
There are proxies as a way around this for those in China (and many locals know about these), but if you get caught your connection might mysteriously fail altogether.
Read more about it here:

I just sent a letter to Hamed Saber in Iran, who wrote Access Flickr, to see if he can help us.
I miss so many things from Flickrtoys.

Censorship is useless and people will always find their way to truth. Sooner or later.
We lived in it for over 40 years. The lost years...

Could try a proxy like Tor very efficient and completely opensource... a final solution, although you probably need before some tedious configuration.

Yeah, I think help is at hand.
On my travels in China, I used Firefox and installed the "Access Flickr" script from Hamed Saber:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4286
It works like a charm. I can't remember I had issues with Scout either.
Just try.
Here are two screenshots of Flickr - one with IE (and without the script running), the other one with FF with the script.

hm, the 9th of Oct. in CA is 10/10 in China. which is national day for the Nationalists on Taiwan.
maybe they were trying to block something related to that event, although it still makes no sense for Flickr Toys.

That's interesting. Maybe (MAYBE) someone in Taiwan was making anti-communism motivational posters. :-) Pure speculation, of course.

You can find a list of applications here:
www.rfa.org/english/about/help/web_access.html
I used Ultrasurf with Windows explorer in the past and it worked.

A Chinese friend who uses flickr says she has been having good results with this list of proxy servers. There are several which have let me reach fd Flickr toys. Good luck and happy creativity everybody!

HELLO ! I spoke too soon above. I"ve been trying one proxy after another for more than an hour and I still cannot use bighugelabs to put a little mat around my photo. Some let me reach flickr toys and open 'mat' and even get everything chosen.... but then... it loses the address of my photo.
STILL NO SUCCESS !!
