Masterpiece (or chef d'œuvre) refers to any work of art that is considered extraordinary. The phrase is generally used to describe what is considered an artist's best piece of work. For example, Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Michelangelo's David, Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, Orson Welles' Citizen Kane, James Joyce's Ulysses, and Jacques Rivette's Out 1 are all examples of these.

Flickr.Masterpieces is all about exceptional photography. The group's purpose is to collect, show and promote excellence in photography.
This is what a "Masterpiece" is to me.
The Photo from every category of Art that has a Life of its own.
That Special picture that everyone else believes is a "Masterpiece"!
