About Flickr Joint Ventures
Ever collaborated with a flickr friend?
Ever manipulated an image of another flickrati?
Ever had a joint project?
Then post it here!
Let us think of some crazy rules that you can all bend, but for now: just sign up!
One thing: the group is about collaborations, and we do want to know what you based your work on. To ID the original picture you used, all you really need to do is post the address for its page.
1. Go find the image so it appears on its own page.
2. Copy the address line from your browser to the clipboard (if you know what the clipboard is), or just write it down.
3. Edit the page your manipulated image is on. In the description area, type in something like "The original is at" and then paste that address from the clipboard, or type it in from your note.
4. Save your changes.
Coming later: a few other tips for putting in links and images.

NOW NOW NOW HEAR HEAR HEAR THIS THIS THIS
***!!!IMPORTANT!!!***NEW REVISED RULES FOR THE GROUP***
Collaboration is not a “cookie cutter” process. It’s an ever-evolving concept that improves over time. In keeping with that concept, the group rules have evolved over the last several days, and we (the FJV admins) are hereby revising the rules for participation in the group. THESE RULES TAKE EFFECT ON 05/05/05 (WOW, five must be the lucky collaborative number!). We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding the original rules may have caused.
THE FOLLOWING RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED, NO EXCEPTIONS. OUR AIM IS TO HAVE SOME FUN WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE GROUP, AND LEAVE THE TROUBLES OF THE REST OF THE ART WORLD OUTSIDE THE GREAT COMMUNITY OF FLICKR.
Rules:
1. Only members of the group may collaborate and post to the group.
2. Self-collaborations and manipulations of public domain, stock photos, or work by any other artist(s) who are not FJV members are not acceptable and will be deleted.
3. Collaboration between group members must be by mutual consent, and credit must be given to all artists involved. Links to the original photos are MANDATORY and MUST be included on each photo submitted.
4. Collaborations must involve at least two group members, but may involve more.
5. Members of the group may ONLY collaborate with other group members for purposes of this group. If you are contemplating a joint venture with a Flickr member outside of the group, that person must become a group member before any collaborative posts are added to the group pool.
6. Any group member that has contributed to a collaborative post has the individual right to delete that post at any time.
7. Any administrator has the right to delete any post at any time.
8. Each group member who posts an image accepts full responsibility for making sure that each collaborator approves the project/post. The administrators of the group are not responsible for any misunderstanding that may arise between FJV members and collaborators.
Thanks for your cooperation, and happy collaborating.
Instructions for linking an image:
1. Find the image as it appears within your collaborator’s photostream.
2. Copy the address line associated with the image from your browser to the clipboard (or write the HTML address down).
3. Edit the description box on your post by typing something like “The original image is:" and then paste the address from the clipboard, or type it in from your note.
4. Save your changes and make sure the link is displayed properly.
In addition to the above, here’s how to post an actual example photo into a group discussion, or a photo discussion within a photostream:
1. Open the photo you want to copy.
2. Click on “All Sizes.”
3. Choose “Small.”
4. Scroll down to option 2 in the “To use this photo on other websites” section.
5. Highlight and copy the HTML in the box.
6. Go to the location you want to post the photo (within a group discussion, or a specific photo in someone’s stream).
7. Paste the HTML to the “Add Your Comment” box.
8. Save, and voila! The picture will appear.
