Change URL and search engines.

I think two really cool features would be to be able to change your personal URL of your pages (not just set it once). And it would be really cool to be able to turn on or off search engines indexing your pages. Just some thoughts. What do you all think?

of course i would prefer search engines to index all my flickr pages (see also my recent suggestion about using ALT in the IMG tag).
allowing people to opt out from indexing might not be as easy as just creating a robot.txt file. as soon as an image is in a group, for example, the spider can find a way to index it and access the rest of the user public images. the best way to not be index is to set all your images as "private", i think.

but if you change your URL, all the links using the old URL will cease to work, or, if someone else later uses the same URL, the link to your page would end up pointing to someone else's page.
So I'm not sure that changing the personal URL would be a good idea.

It could be designed so all the old URLS redirect to the most current one.

Which just wastes even more URL space.

They could charge extra to get an additional URL

I think it would be great if you could set search engine spidering of your images by photo.
I'm happy for Google to spider most of my images, but not quite so happy on others, even though I'd still like to share them with the wider Flickr community.
