It's nice, but is there any way to remove images from the group now? I used to use the drop down list and simply click on the cross if I wanted to remove it...

there are a few ways of removing images from a pool. heres a couple: if you look on the right hand side of your photo's page, there is a column saying "this photo also belongs to", underneath that is the list of groups the photo is in, each group it is in has a little cross next to it, clicking the crosses removes the photo from those groups.
another way is if you disable the script, in the tools/manage user scripts window, it will revert to the original behaviour, that you are thinking of.

Id like to send multiple images to single groups ... like my 'our wedding' private group. No spam issues there. ;)
As for spamming a group - if you took the piss you'd just get booted and banned anyway so I doubt you need worry about that steeev.

---------------- yeah thats what i was thinking too, fgt, though i couldnt think of a legitimate reason why anyone would want to send a single image to more than 10 groups or so, then again having said that, i sometimes find myself sending an image to 20 groups or more... oh well if you need to you can always edit the script to change the value.----------------

---------------- theres already is a script that lets you send multiple images to the same group (amongst other cool things), its called flickr batch operations enhancer by a guy called lachie, its pretty cool, it doesnt work with gm 0.3.5 due to the removal of the GM API functions, but might work with the latest GM beta 0.5, anyone tried it out yet?

Is anyone else having problems with this latest version? I have used it since I got it and it worked fine, but I think that was running under Windows. I've been trying to add some images to groups this evening on Linux and the script is not working properly.
In single group mode it works perfectly but in multiple group mode, after clicking the button to send, the Sending to n groups message is displayed, followed by the names of the groups, then nothing. No progress indicators are added next to the group names and the image is not added to any of the groups.

eti, as the writer of the script, i think im pretty well placed to determine whether the script was working or not. did you actually try sending an image to multiple groups using the script? i tested it myself and it was not working, i wouldnt have gone to all the trouble of updating the script if it was working...
...of course there is the possibility that you were not using the most up to date version of the script at the time, in which case it might still have worked, though the previously unfixed bugs would have still been there, so yes its best to update to this latest version.

ive added a new function, that saves your group selection in a cookie, so next time u return you can easily reselect the same groups. ive also changed it so it starts up in multi select mode.
Posted 73 months ago.

Ive added a new function that lets you save the selection of groups that you submit to, so you can quickly reselect them the next time you need them.
For example say you wanted to submit an image to a few different photoshop groups and you realise that you might need to send other images to the same selection of groups in the future.
You can now save the selection of groups by ticking the checkbox next to the add button, on clicking the add button you will be asked to give a name to your selection of groups. your image will be submitted to the groups you selected, and the selection of groups you chose will be saved under the name you supplied. next time you return to the page to submit another image, you can choose from your previously saved selections using the secondary select box below the main one, this will make selecting multiple groups that you submit to regularly much quicker. theres also a delete button, which lets you delete group selections.

mortimerpa, i thought i fixed that bug, try getting the latest version if you havent already got it.
update: i can confirm that the latest version of the script doesnt have this bug, you must be using quite an old version, as this was fixed in v1.21
from the sourcecode:
"v1.21 11-May-2006 : Minor bugfix: can now submit to group names with single quotes in them."
the current version of the script is 1.61

With version 1.61, the bug is still there. I get the error:
missing ) after argument list
sendmail('90379689@N00','155960962','B E A U T I F U L [photos with a beautiful' comment]')3
as you can see it only replaces the first ' in the name (before beautiful), but not the second one (after beautiful).
The replace is not correct on line 399, I tried:
grpname=nmSelected[i].replace(/\'/g,''); // strip out the nasties
and this one (with a RegEx with option g:global instead of a String) works fine.

It worked fine until today. Because I didn't find the option "Save Group Selection" I tried reinstalling it. But:
It stopped working after I did that...
FF 1.5.0.4
GM 0.6.4
I uninstalled all other scripts, then I uninstalled greasemonkey and reinstalled it. No effect.
... Now there is this odd Flickr standard "send to group" dropdown again....
Edit: I didn't realize that the script still works fine on my other photos. So if you experience the same problems: Keep patient, try other pics. It might be for the reason that your photo is in too many groups already.

@Jesus Presley, i had an idea of what might be the problem. You told me that the image that the script wasnt working with was in around 60 groups, well if its in that many groups, the page is going to take a long time to load, and this script only starts working once the page has finished loading, so if you dont wait for the page to finish loading and click the send to group button, the original send to group function will be triggered.
btw you might like to read this thread about having your photo in "too many" groups, as apparently it negatively affects the interestingness score, in case you are bothered about that kind of thing.

If you install my Group Pool Admin - Warn + Delete script, it now has functionality for removing photos from multiple pools, by clicking the [X['s next to the pool names all without leaving or reloading the photos main page.

BTW I am a member in several hundred groups and sometimes want to add a photo to more than 25 relevant groups. Then I find it annoying to be told to try again with fewer groups. Compared to the 94451 groups flickr has today 25 is just a too small number.
I just counted my group memberships. I am now member of about 800 groups. Its amazing how splintered flickrs group system is. Of course I contributed to it by creating 34 groups myself which have 2470 members. I found later that I created some duplicates of existing groups. But most of my groups are unique.

i'm trying the Multi-Group Sender for the first time. It seems like a fantastic solution to a nagging problem. However, I'm not clear how I can select mulitple individual groups that are not sequential in the list. When I use the Shift or Ctrl keys to try to select more than one group, then all of the groups between those two are also highlighted.
There's got to be something I'm missing.

remiss, are you using a mac or a pc?
if you're on a mac, just select one group, and then select the next group while holding down the apple key.
if you're on a pc, the same drill applies, but use the ctrl key instead of the apple key.
you can deselect the same way, just ctrl/apple click on the group you want to deselect.

My only suggestin, if you are getting close to the limit (I think its 25) you have no way of seeing that until you actually try to post and then it tells you. I would be nice to know how many groups you have selected along the way.

This is a terrific script which I have been using for some time. One suggestion, though, is that if you have a lot of groups, it would be useful to be able to search on the groups and be able to more easily find a particular group that would be suitable for a particlar photo

The script doesn't seem to know how to handle the "photo put in the moderation queue" reply by flickr. It says there was an error, but in fact the photo was sent fine.
So the script works, but you shouldn't believe him if it shows an error with this message next to it.
