Thanks for adding the colon to the to-do list!
Back when I first noticed you adding icons to to your replies you explained how I could add the code manually; When I started adding the icons to my own replies the response was so crazy that I had to create a boilerplate reply that included step-by-step instructions for all the questions I was getting about the icons. I'm glad to see that all these years later your hard work has paid off with such a popular script :)

I'd like to confirm that version 3.3 of your script works perfectly in Safari on the Mac, so I would like to express my appreciation of your efforts. I'm not a computer hacker but I knew my way around the file system enough to be able to install GreaseKit 1.5 (on my wife's iBook OS10.4.11/Safari 3.0.2) before installing your script.
FYI: I made a minor change to the script so the page would display 'reply with name / icon / icon&name' instead of 'reply with name / icon / icon' (using & in one place).
Thanks again.

Raymond:
Very nice idea to have icons there but I feel like those icons are little too big and clutter up the page visually as you see them repeatedly (especially if you have some other scripts installed). Some simple icon with small size and matching Flickr's color palate would be less obtrusive.
This is how it looks on my screen:

This is what I mean:

keep up the nice work!

This is my favourite flickr GM add on. Thanks. I agree with saicode, the icons are way too big. Actually 3 buttons are too much, enough to have a name and icon reply OR the double name + icon only. Thanks again and really my only complaint is the domineering size of buttons on the page.

I would just like to add that I too can confirm that the script works with Safari + Greasekit (which is almost a miracle... a good 80% of Greasemonkey scripts don't), so THANK YOU!

Thanks to you, too, for that tip. For a second there I couldn't figure out why there were two "icon" links. Fixed mine as well to read "icon & name" ;-)

PopsiclePete www.bobochu.com/files/greasemonkey/flickrbuddyiconreply3_... should automatically ask if you want to view the source or install it. Something in your browsing preferences is presumably automatically showing the JS text in your browser instead of letting you install it. You probably need to change your file associations for .js files. It depends which OS you are using as to how to do that, but re-installing GM might fix it.

I have latest FF on OSX, WinXP & Ubuntu and the script works fine. As usual probably a clash with other scripts works in similar areas of the page. Re-installing your scripts in different order may fix it as zyrcster said.
I don't believe the creator of "Better Flickr" ever contacted me about including this script in the add-on, but it does so you are using without realising. Well, it includes an old version of my script anyway.

i have a hack that works until doc18 gets an official fix out.
insert this at line 177 (right after "comments = "... on line 176)
if (comments.snapshotLength == 0) { comments = document.evaluate("//div[@class='comment-owner Who clearfix']",document,null,XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE,null); }
insert line above as one line and then go to line 183 (right after "var said = who"...) and insert this line:
if (said == null) { said = who.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1]; }
save, reload photo page.
should look like this:

Here's my fix for v3.3:
Change (line 176):
//td[@class='Who']
to:
//div[contains(@class,'Who')]
And then change (line 181):
var said = who.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('td')[1];
to:
var said = who.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1];
Note: this just fixes the script on the photo page

Hello everyone. I have just uploaded a quick fix for the photo pages here (v3.4). The reason that it has been broken as discussed above is that Flickr has changed the photo pages HTML structure, and I have geared the code towards the change.
Please note that since the HTML structure of the discussion thread remains in the old format, I am going to wait a little bit to see if Flickr is going to update it inline with the photo pages. So for the time being v3.4 does not work in the discussion threads.
The best way to update is to right-click on the Greasemonkey icon and choose Manage User Scripts, select Flickr Buddy Icon Reply from the list click Uninstall (with the Also uninstall associated prefences checkbox checked). Clear your Firefox's browser cache, restart the browser and navigate back to this page. Finally click on the script link and install it.
Good luck (^_^)
UPDATE: new v3.5 now works for both photos and discussions pages, Flickr Buddy Icon Reply v3.5

Yeah, realized that after I posted it ;) Your solution catches that, as well as the following (see below)
Thanks for the update. Until we know if they are going to update the group code, the following works on both (modified from 3.3):
Change:
comments = document.evaluate("//td[@class='Who']",document,null,XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE,null);
to:
comments = document.evaluate("//td[@class='Who']",document,null,XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE,null);
var el = 'td';
if (comments.snapshotLength == 0) {
comments = document.evaluate("//div[contains(@class,'Who')]",document,null,XPathResult.UNORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE,null),
el = 'div';
}
And:
var said = who.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('td')[1];
to:
var said = who.parentNode.getElementsByTagName(el)[1];

Thanks for your patience and help. Here's the weird thing - 'Posted 17 minutes ago. ( reply with name / icon / icon&name | permalink | delete ) ' appears beneath each of other people's comments on my photos but clicking on name, icon or icon&name does not put anything in my comment box. I even did 'PREVIEW' in case there was an anomaly where only that was when I would see it.
It works here in the thread but not beneath my photos.
Weird huh?
I don't know if this helps but I noticed that when I click in the comment box I get the flashing cursor there but when I then click on name, icon or icon&name the flashing cursor disappears. I can't type in the comment box until I have again clicked inside the box.
Oh - and the 'permalink | delete' do work. It's the other two that still don't.
