Just a quick post to let people know about a little Flash app I wrote yesterday. It's still a work in progress but it gives a different twist to the same ol' slideshow.

Comments welcome.

Apple TV like ;)

I think I would use it as a screensaver !!! (Wink, wink)

It would be cool to choose wich users, tags, groups, ...

Keep up the good work !

Yeah that's fun. as suggested, some options to narrow scope to friends/contacts/tags/groups etc would be neat. Also would run this as a screensaver if it was an option.

Perhaps a desktop app via adobe's Apollo?

Thanks! Some of the filtering is in.

Groups are a bit tough. I can make it so you use the group ID, but they aren't easily found (not through the API).

A screensaver is in the works. Mac first then Windows (since I'm more of a Mac guy).

And making an Apollo app should be fairly easy. I'll see what I can whip up over the weekend.

Cool additions...

Easiest way to approach groups usually entails getting a userID first, then displaying some sort of "select from this person's groups" interface. As you point out, digging up the N##@blahblah IDs for groups requires knowing where to look for it.

I'm using the Flickr ActionScript library and it doesn't handle this part too well just yet. In fact it didn't handle interestingness at all but I added that myself. If I get some time I'll look into adding something for groups.

I've created a GM script to make it easier to get to your ticker page. It was based almost entirely after netomer's Scout link GM script.

I really look forward to this + groups... if you can figure it out. I see it being quite useful (not just pretty) for catching up on group pools and contacts stream.

Ok, I had about 10 minutes to play around and added it. I've also updated the GM script to have the Ticker link show up in the group's pool home.
