drivebybiscuits1 - you don't need GM to create "live" links, you just need to type in a href="http://www.flickr.com" Flickr Rocks! /a (with angle brackets) to get Flickr Rocks!
Though the Flickr Rich Edit GM script does make it easier..

drivebybiscuits1 - the easier way that I know of is to use the Rich Edit GM script. You can then select the text you want to make a link, choose the link option that the script adds and paste the URL into the box that pops up.. the script takes care of the rest.
I apologize for the messy looking example earlier.. Flickr tries to convert stuff into a link even if you don't want it to.. the only way to avoid that is to leave off the brackets.

Wrt "live" links, the Firefox extension Copy URL+ (with a configuration extension known as Selection as link (courtesy of marbux)) makes it really easy to insert links into anything that's html. You select some text in the page you want to link on, and then select the menu item "Edit->Copy URL+->Copy URL+" . Now you just paste into the page where you want the link to appear, as I did a few lines above.

Not necessarily the best programming but the most usefull for me are the High Res Flickr script for 1000 pixel photos in the photopages and my derivatives of this script for 500 pixel images in several thumbnail pages. I managed to convert group pools, the photostream, explore calender, search and set detail pages. With most of the small and square thumbnail pages I had no success so far.
Here is the links to the stuff mentioned and a screenshot of my enhanced photostream page:

Other essential scripts are the multi group sender which starts fast even with a list of 1000 groups and the more user links or virtual sets greasemonkey scripts which provide access to a users most interesting photos.
Everything else is optional but I still have another 20 or 30 scripts active.

heres some good ones that i use that dont seem to be mentioned yet:
Greased LightBox This script lets you browse sets of thumbnails on flickr and some other sites much quicker. when you click a thumbnail or a direct link to an image, the large size image will open up on the current page you are on, saving you having to visit the flickr page for each image, which can save quite a bit of time. It takes a bit of getting used to, and its also worth noting the shortcut for not opening images with lightbox is to hold ctrl and shift buttons when you click on a thumbnail.
Quick View of photo comments This script by CK, works on a similar principle to the above, except it works on an images comments. when you click the comments link under a photo, it will popup a list of just the images comments, saving loading the whole photo page. Can be very useful.
Multi Tag Search This script by mrjoro makes it easier to search for similar images to the one you are looking at, by letting you make a selection of that images tags and do a tag search on those tags.
Flickr Buddy Interestingness This cool script by Mortimer? adds a menu item to the user icon buddy menu, that lets you quickly see a users most interesting images.

I really can't do without Flickr Auto Page anymore..
what it does is that is auto loads the next page when you reach the bottom of the one you're viewing, and when done loading, it just pastes it underneath making it into one very long page instead of several different.
this way you never have to click "next page" again, you'll have an infinite scroll..
it works on both picture pages and forums as well..

Allyn (allynedmonds.com) [deleted] says:
Sometimes I like to view images on black backgrounds. This script userscripts.org/scripts/show/9589 adds the Adobe Lightroom "Lights Out" functionality to a Flickr photo page. The lights out functionality causes the browser window (with the exception of the photo) to be overlayed with a semi-transparent medium grey image. Upon a second click, the browser window is completely
blacked out.
To go back to the normal view, just click anywhere on the black background. Very nice tool!

I have a GM script that alphabetizes the list of sets and group pools a photo is in the photo page. It also re-ordered the tags list. I can't seem to find it anymore to install it on a second browser.
Edit: Found it here. Sort tags and groups/sets in photo page. The effects are trivial, but it really helps me to find what groups I've put the photo in already.

Del.icio.us ★ FlikrSurf+
♥ Flickr Functional Suite
(Provides an interface to let you assign colors to users you meet – that way, if you find a user’s link on a page in the future, it will automatically be highlighted with thes color you previously gave them.
In group pool pages, you can highlight user photos where more than one image is visible from the same user. You can also overlay all comments from a user under the corresponding photos on that page. )
Work very fine....but the author don't work on it now.It shall'be interesting to have a backup function and a way to use the systhem of "Contact Organiser" , an other great tool too work on our contacts ;-)
See a Screen Shot Here :FlickrSurf
♥ Flickr Contacts Organizer
♥ Flickr PM
(Adds easily accessible icon links to a users Email, Favorites, most Interesting photos, Photo Archive and Profile, next to their user names in forums and photo comments)
♥ Quick Links
(It lets you add your most frequently used links in a mini tool bar at the top of each page on Flickr. You can edit this script to customize them...)
♥ Flickr Auto Pagination : Flickr Infinite Scroll
(It makes small changes to the interface removing the need for you to click on the pagination number and wait for loading times every time you go to the next/previous page. Flickr Auto Pagination The script will fetch the next page and append it to the end of)
♥ Move Comment Form Up
(Moves comment form above all the existing comments, directly below photo.)
♥ Flickr Referer into Comments
(Every body must use it , no?)
♥ Thumbnail Enhancer
(Adds the number of comments and notes to each photo listed in any list of thumbnails on Flickr : i.e. group pools, photos from your contacts, favorites, etc.)
♥ Flickr Pool Admin Warn+Delete
(It lets you single click to remove images from a group pool, also easily mail a user, kick, ban or promote a user all from the group pool page itself.)
♥ DARCKR
(Turn your Flickr Stream to as many sharable photo galleries as you like....and many useful things to explore quickly all sorts of streams in a better way : try it !)
♥ Flickr Fav and Sets Magnifier (www.goston.net)
( An adaptation of an old Script : In Set or Pool page, shows small picture version when you “mouse over” a flickr favorite.Very fast and fine.. )
♥ Virtuals Sets
( A Virtual Set is not a real photo set in Flickr. It's a set of photos sharing common properties or "things" say, your favorites, same tags, or same privacy settings. This script builds a navigating photostream box for each pre-defined virtual set. ...)
♥ Flickr Favorite Users
(It shows, on the main contact page, your "favorite users" on flickr. These are the user owning photos you have favorited. They are sorted by the number of favorites you have from them.)
♥ Flickr Groups Organiser - Tag your groups and quit groups more easily
♥ Show All Images By a User in His/Her Groups
(Idea based on steeev's Show all images by this user in this pool script.)
♥ More Group Navigation
(Add more links under the group titles to: - Gustavog random photos - FlickrLeech (don't work :-( - Your photos in that group - FD's pool cleaner if you are admin.)
♥ More info in New Contact Mail on Flickr
(When you receive a new flickr mail from a user inviting you to a group or adding you as a contact, flickr provides you with a minimum of information. With this I often find it difficult to decide if I want to add a user to my contact list or join a group. So I had to extend Flickr interface to provide more information that could help me decide what to do from these emails....)
♥ Mail Manager
( Adds some Flickr Mail Management tools, such as mark all messages as read, delete all read messages, delete group invitations, delete new contact alerts, delete entire mailbox. )
♥ Flickr Unknown Reverse Contacts
( On your flickr reverse contacts page, the names of those who are not on your contact list appear in red.)
♥ Flexplore : Flickr individual Explore
(Analyses your favorites and people you share them with and tries to recommend photos you might like as well based on that. Fast, very good design and fine results : what can we want more?)
Here some new way to play with Flickr with The Yahoo Pipes :
♥ Y! Pipe: My Flickr relationships on Flickr - Photo Sharing! (www.flickr.com)
(Using this application, you may list your contacts with whom you have a specific (mutual) relationship. For example, you may want to see who of your friends has marked you as a friend, or rather who of your contacts does not list you as a contact, etc.).
And some XPI , to post in comments and discussion :
♥ BBCodeXtra [Extension XPI]
(Adds to the context menu new commands to insert Html codes in an easy and fast way. With it,in your post, you can send a link with the name you want, send a picture, etc...)
♥ QuickNote [Extensions XPI]
(QuickNote is a note taking extension slightly modeled after "Post-It", "Sticky", and the "Quick Notepad" ).
♥ Resizeable Textarea[Extensions XPI]
(We all have to fill in forms all the time online, especially if we blog. Unfortunately, many of the textboxes we have are too small, either in width and height, or both.Install it,restart Firefox, and go to a page that contains a textbox. Move your mouse to the bottom right corner, click and drag to resize, and you’ve instantly got a much bigger textbox resized to your specifications.)
Et voilà , Good night !

Please Help!! These scripts are awesome -- I had several and they were all functional one day, but gone the next. (i.e., steev's group organizer, group tracker and contact organizer).
I put a lot of time into tagging my groups and contacts. For a reason unknown or understood by me, everything is gone even though these scripts still show up under the greasemonkey tools.
For several days I tried to get them back -- Finally I uninstalled each one and then re-installed them. Still nothing!?
How can I get these great tools to work properly??

Hey There, ah doo dah!
Thanks for the reply. Not sure what the problem is. I do use Firefox, so maybe that's the problem? It was working before, as I said. Now, nada! Does Firefox update itself to the newest version??

SR. i am not sure which thread exactly I read it in. The latest version of firefox is 2.0.0.11 I've been using 2.0.0.9 and it still works for me. I did not however read of any solutions or exactly if it was the firefox update. I don't normally update until I read the release notes. And lastly, I do not allow anything to automatically update, but I believe FF should always ask or notify you an update is available so you should have noticed.
Good luck,
Doo_dah

I've been searching through the threads and have yet to find anything concrete.
Yes, Firefox does notify you of each update -- As I am far from being a technical whiz, I always just click O.K. and away we go . . . I don't read the "release note" -- Don't even know if I would understand them. Never dreamed it could cause me a problem -- And it never has in the past few years, but I am very new to Flickr and the greasemonkey scripts.
My oldest son is a computer geek and he's the one that set me up with Firefox in the first place -- I'm going to ask him about what he can find in regards to the actual version I am running on my laptop, etc. Then I'll check back and see if anyone can help with my updated info. Thanks for your help, ah doo dah!

Is there a script that allows you to return to page 'x' once you've commented on a photo within a pool or someone's photostream or does Flickr already have that facility and I just haven't found it yet? If I'm on page 6 for example and I comment I can't see how I can get back to page 6 directly so that I can carry on looking at the rest of the photos on that page and I find it a bit annoying that I have to go back to the first page and from there go to page 6 (for example) and that's not taking into account that sometimes I forget what page I was originally on and have to click through several of them until I find where I was.

Esther17: there are scripts to help you find out more about the camera used, but if you want to change your photos to show different "Taken with" information for others, that's out of the range of Greasemonkey.
It can be done, but it needs to be done on your computer before you upload the images. I use exiftool for that (there is an obviously named group for it), but it is not an easy to use tool unless you like the command line.

Esther17: I use the open source programme Reveal to edit the exif data of my scanned images, it works well and is easy to use.

It doesn't seem to change the Camera Model part of EXIF which Esther17 wants and I was also looking for. Good find though :)

There's a new windows GUI for exiftool, which can edit camera model.
freeweb.siol.net/hrastni3/foto/exif/exiftoolgui.htm
It has a batch mode. I've not tried it.

me again,,,
my wife loves the thumbnail enhancer and would like to enhance even further. while viewing thumbnails, she would also like to see if she has made a comment on that photo, without opening up and scrolling.
any help?
thanks!

ToniVC - I agree 100%
Flickr Commented On by Brenton Cleeland is one of the most useful scripts out there.
_______________________________________________
I Think this one is missed by most but is a GREAT help - not just a gimmick.. Say you see a pict you really like - bam - right at the top of the pict you can see that you have already commented on it just like you have added it as a fav.
Brenton - I guess I don't usually find it is that I 'Google' flickr greasemonkey scripts and it must not have 'flickr' as a tag - so it doesn't show up.

Don't know what might be happening but I have put it on at least 5 machines and each was running a different version of 'XP' and works great on all - the icon turns the usual pink just like if you had added it as a favorite. Might try turning some others off and see if there might be a conflict.
Just had to do that myself (find the culprit) - my scroll bar went away :)

Kathy~ wrote time a photo was added to pool can't live without this one
6v8.gamboni.org/Flickr-Pool-Date.html
I like this one. Only problem is it does not work well with challenge groups. It works from the time the photo was posted to the discussion thread, not the pool. I'm not sure though if this has anything to do with whether the photo has to be authorized by an admin or mod first, meaning it goes into a pool queue first so that we can check if the photo actually did win a challenge and received an award before being allowed in the pool. I'm an admin in a challenge group, and I just admitted a photo a few minutes ago into our pool, but it said the photo was posted over 4 hours ago, and that is actually the time it was posted to the challenge thread.
