You could make all your pictures friends and family only. Not sure how much it would help this situation. Maybe you already have done that I haven't checked out your stream closely lately. Sorry you had to go through this...

I received this email today, too. So sorry that you have to put up with this crap. I reported this as abuse to Flickr. Hopefully they take care of it.
Interestingly, if you go to this person's profile it appears that their account may have been hijacked by someone else. In any case, Flickr should investigate and take this issue very seriously.

I was shaking when I sent you the email with this information because it was so disturbing. I had no idea it had been sent to more people.
Apparently, this is not an isolated incident either.

There was also some discussion on Digg, but I have yet to finish reading through the comments.

This just sucks and I really want to know what Flickr is doing about it.

Luckily didn't get them type of email (yet....). I'm shattered to see what people are up to. Making your pics available to F&F seems the only way for now. Hopefully Flickr staff can soon find ways to resolve that.

I got the email too... of course we all know it is spam or a hacker sending this! I don't report it any more, Flickr doesn't do anything about it anyway...
it is not the first one of his kind, I got one like this a few weeks ago from someone else...
I know everything about Flickr Abuse... I had an hacker, stalked by pedophiles, blogged over and over again... that is why I only work F&F...

It made me feel a bit sick when I got it, I reported it too.. I had this back today but I dont know whether its a default mail or an actual reply...
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to report this incident.

I was incredibly upset when I received this email. I truly hope there is some resolve from Flickr and some way somehow to catch the person responsible for this sickening email. :(

I have not yet received it but my thoughts are with you. This is sick and horrible to think that someone would look at a child that way. I hope that this is the end of it. I am glad you decided not to close your Flickr account.

Yo Rich,
My suggestion would be to set those super-special, adorable, sensitive photos to Friends and Family view only.
Setting the entire photostream to F&F would make it hard for you to make new Flickr friends without adding them as a contact first.

rich, i understand what this is about, and i agree with you. just one thought though. this isn't hollywood. as sick as people are, there are much easier ways to get to kids then finding pictures of them online and tracking them down. especially little kids, who can't get out of the house without their parents.it makes for a cool movie idea, but not very realistic. the danger is much greater anywhere in public. it just sucks there have to be people like this. in any case don't close your flickr account, i love your pictures. i guess if you wanna go private, yea F&F is the way to go. good luck.

Rich as you know I was quite upset when I received this email.
It looks like you are doing what you can to notify everyone affected by this sick individual. If I could have my way, I'd like 20 minutes in a locked room with the coward that sent the email.
