About Flickr Challenge Group (PLEASE READ GROUP RULES)

The Flickr Challenge Group was established for the friendly competition of photos between Flickr members in which contestants will be competing for a place in the Flickr Challenge Group photo pool. These challenges will consist of 16 threads of different themes in which each member is encouraged to enter a medium sized photo to compete against other members. Each challenge will consist of the first 10 photo entries. Once the challenge has 10 photos entered the voting will begin, first photo to receive 5 votes wins. The winner will be given an award, permitted to enter their photo into the pool, and will have the option of selecting the theme for the next challenge; however in the interest of equal opportunity they will not be permitted to compete in that challenge but may compete in all other challenges.

Golden Rule
#1 This is a family friendly group so please no nudity will be permitted. Racial, ethnic, religious or any other negative comments will not be tolerated. All reports of abuse will be investigated by a group administrator and any member found to be breaking this rule will risk being banned from group no questions asked.

Entering
#2 Simply post 1 medium sized photo pertaining to the challenge theme into a challenge thread. Please remember to number your photo as that number will be used to tally votes. Any photo not containing a number will be removed from the challenge. Please remember that any given photo will only be permitted into 1 active challenge at a time. If a member has an issue pertaining to the relevance of the photo meeting the theme we request that they first try to solve the problem by contacting the owner of the photo. Please tag all of your entries with FlickrChallengeGroup as we have created a search link on the front page that will enable you to see all the photos ever entered into a challenge. Feedback is encouraged and always appreciated; however, please leave feedback on the photo and not in the challenge.

You may choose to leave one of these links back to our group when commenting on a photo.

#3 When voting, please copy the form below and paste it into the comment box of the challenge. You must vote in all active challenges. This is important as it keeps the threads moving.

Be sure to check your vote for accuracy and consistency as multiple members may have posted their vote at the same time as yours. If you find your vote to be in error simply edit your vote to reflect the current score. If you have troubles with this or you find someone else’s vote to be in error please leave a note and notify an administrator.

Please frequently check the challenges and post your votes as quickly as possible as this will help keep the challenges moving quickly. REMEMBER YOU CAN’T WIN IF YOU DON’T VOTE!

Winning
#3 There will be 16 themed challenges containing 10 photos per challenge. The first photo to receive five votes wins and will be allowed to post their photo in the group pool. The winner then has 12 hour to restart the thread with a new theme. If the winner is not able to start a new thread within 12 hours an administrator will reopen the challenge and select the theme. In the interest of equal opportunity the winner will not be allowed to compete in the challenge they created. After a winner has won a challenge and has been given a winning message to post it in the pool, you are not allowed to enter a winning photo into another challenge.

Any photo awarded second place will be permitted to enter that photo into the Second Chance Challenge. You may only enter your photo into the Second Chance Challenge once per second place award. We will accept 10 photos per Second Chance Challenge before starting the vote and again first photo to reach 5 votes wins. The winner of the Second Chance Challenge will be invited to enter their photo into the photo pool.
You are not allowed to post a photo in a challenge that has already won.
