About Swiss Peeks issue 1
A book of photographs taken in Switzerland and posted to Flickr. The book contains photographs selected from the Swiss Peeks pool by the editors. The book will be offered for sale online to the general public on a non-profit basis.
Once a general selection has been gathered through the submission of photographs to this pool by its members, every photograph in the pool which has been tagged appropriately for the upcoming issue will be rated by a group of editors. A final selection for publication will be made by using the photographs which have gained the highest marks overall. The editors' decisions regarding the selection of images and the published book are final.
Please submit up to 20 of your own photographs to the pool, and encourage others to post theirs. We can only accept images from you for which you personally hold the exclusive copyright.
Photographers will not be paid for the inclusion of their photographs in the book and the book will be published on a non-profit basis. No free copies of the book will be made available at any time. If you want a copy yourself when the book has been published, you will have to buy one from the printing service or distributor selected by the editors. Contributing photographers will, however, be credited within the book by name and with their Flickr photostream address.
We want to promote your photographs, not rip you off. Your work will only be sold, either as part of a collection or publication, or individually, with your specific permission. By submitting your photograph to this pool, you agree to free use of the photograph by the editors and appointed publishers for promotional purposes connected directly to the book in any online or offline media.
Photographs which are accepted for inclusion in the book may be edited, re-touched, or minimally cropped to comply with certain technical requirements*. The editors will not change the original feel or essence of the photograph during editing. Where colour or brightness adjustments are made, this work will soley be carried out to maintain a standard image quality throughout the book. Particular attention will be paid to highlight and shadow areas, which are often rendered differently when viewing a printed version.
Personal, independent opinions expressed by editors or other members of Flickr (marking as a favourite, commenting, invitation to a group etc.) should not be taken as an indication that the relevant photograph will be selected for the book.
