About Flat Stanley, World Traveler
Hello!
We are elementary school aged students living in Northern Virginia, USA, and in Illinois, USA, who want to learn more about the world we live in with the help of our friend, Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley is a character from the children’s book ‘Flat Stanley’ written by Jeff Brown. In the story, Stanley Lambchop is squashed flat by a falling bulletin board. There are advantages to being flat. You can be mailed in an envelope to strange and exotic places. Better yet, you can be downloaded to locations all over the world and printed out on a printer! Once printed, you can tag along with people and learn more about them and the places where they live. If you, our Flickr friends, print out Flat Stanley and take him along with you, you can snap a photo of what you do together and write a little note about it, then add it to this Flickr group. Then we can learn about your special corner of this amazing and beautiful world. We are eager to find out what it is like where you live and what you think the most special things are. We plan to mark each place Stanley visits on a big map.
Some ideas about what Flat Stanley might do with you are visit tourist attractions, landmarks or historic sites. You might show him a special cultural thing. Maybe you cook a special dish! Maybe you wear a kimono or some other traditional clothing. Maybe you live in the hometown of a cool sports team or artist or garden. Maybe you live somewhere very, very cold, or maybe somewhere extra hot! Maybe you have a job or hobby that you would like to share – do you band birds or watch whales? Where? What is it like? You get the idea, right?
Here are Flat Stanleys and Flat Stanlinas to download and print

Thank you for sharing the world with us!
