Everyone knows the famous Flatiron Building in New York City; the wedge-shaped structure rising up almost 300 feet at 23rd Street, Broadway, & 5th Avenue.
Built in 1902, it's definitely an impressive version of the triangular skyscrapers and buildings of its kind.
But obviously, it's not alone.
Toronto has the Gooderham Building, nicknamed the "Flatiron Building, which was built 10 years before it's New York counterpart in 1892 located at Front and Wellington Streets.
Vancouver has the Hotel Europe in Gastown, built in 1909.
And I'm sure countless other Cities around the World have similar structures.
Being curious about them, I thought a group dedicated to the flatiron structures would be a nice addition to the Flickr community.
That said, anyone who has a picture of a wedge-like structure a la the Flatiron is welcome to contribute - and if you have the history to accompany the picture all the better...
With other words - show me the flatirons out there!
